Poster My Wall is an excellent online poster maker, but the site offers so much more for educators.
Sample from the template gallery.
The Teachers Page lists many benefits:
-Create projects to organize posters created by students.
-Students are not required to create an account.
-Students see only posters created within the classroom. No public sharing.
-Students’ projects are never made public.
-Completely free for teachers.
The site is loaded with great features. Excellent templates, awesome backgrounds, fancy fonts, a large collection of shapes and clip-art, combined with user-friendly poster-making tools, download and printing options.
Anyone can use the site without an account, but I STRONGLY encourage you to take advantage of the features offered by creating a free teacher account. The teacher account allows you to create “projects” which are essentially pages were student posters will be displayed.
The site even provides you with student instructions that are specific to your topic that you can copy and paste. I do recommend suggesting that students somehow include their name in the project title; otherwise you won’t be able to identify them from the anonymous student accounts.
The site is free to teachers, but they quite reasonably ask that you spread the word about their site to parents and friends.
